Samsung has announced another variant of its successful Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. Originally available in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl, and Silver Titanium, Samsung has now introduced the same handset in another shade called Pink Gold.

Indeed, there is nothing special about the colour, as it is not made of a precious metal. What is interesting is Samsung’s reasoning behind introducing the new colour option for its S7 lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Pink Gold

“Pink Gold was chosen as it, like the other colours available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is a natural colour that provides a sense of comfort. These hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces,”. reports the official website. “In particular, the refined Pink Gold color scheme is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and sophistication to the smartphones’ design.”.

For now the Pink Gold variant of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will only be available in Korea. But Samsung says that the new variant will be available in select markets across the globe shortly.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge were launched in India in March, 2016. Samsung introduced the the Galaxy S7 at a price of Rs 48,900 while the S7 edge was priced at Rs 56,900 for the 32GB handset. Those who pre-booked the smartphones by March 17 also received the Samsung Gear VR headset, bundled for free.
